Oral Cancer Screening

How Oral ID works

The OralID device uses the same proven fluorescence technology as other medical exam devices to detect abnormal lesions. When the blue light from OralID shines on healthy oral tissue, it fluoresces green. However, when it shines on abnormal tissue, it appears dark due to a lack of fluorescence.

Oral ID is a simple, 2 minute examination of your mouth and throat areas. This important annual test is critical in the goal of early detection.

Are you at risk for Oral HPV-related oral cancer? Get tested and be certain.

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is one of the most common virus groups in the world. Oral HPV is now a known cause for cancer of the mouth and throat areas.

How do I know if I have an Oral HPV infection?

Early oral HPV infections do not typically cause any clinical signs or symptoms; thus, a visual exam would not detect people that may already have an infection caused by oral HPV.

In our office you can be tested during your oral health exam and be certain. This easy, sterile saline rinse by OralDNA Labs can detect oral HPV infections very early. If an HPV infection is present, we can help you to better understand your risk for oral PHV-related oral cancer.
