Bakersfield, CA – Cosmetic dentistry is becoming more popular as Americans are learning the benefits of such dental work are more than just aesthetic. Sure, tooth whitening can make a smile look more beautiful. But dental implants and other restorative and cosmetic procedures can improve the function of a patient’s bite, thereby improving his/her life.
Do you have chipped, broken or cracked teeth? Have you been living with it because you don’t think it’s that big of a deal?
While a broken back tooth may not seem like something to worry about, especially since no one else can see it, you should get cracked and broken teeth looked at right away. I frequently have patients come to me quite a while after they’ve broken their tooth, only to find their mouth has a host of other problems, as well.
When you break or chip a tooth, chances are good you’ll avoid chewing down on that particular tooth. And that means you’re then using a different bite pattern and putting new pressure on your other teeth. Over time, that pressure can lead to additional teeth chipping, breaking and cracking.
If you leave a broken tooth for too long, it may also require a more extensive repair than it otherwise might have needed. Rather than a simple bonding or crown procedure, you may need root canal therapy to remove bacteria and infection in the root area and preserve the tooth.
Cosmetic procedures can also correct overlapping or irregularly shaped teeth. Teeth that overlap or are crowded are harder to keep clean through regular brushing and flossing. As a cosmetic dentist, my primary goal is to provide beautiful smiles that are also functional and healthy. Healthy teeth equal a healthy mouth and a healthy life.
Not only can cosmetic dentistry procedures offer a healthier and properly functioning smile, but they can also offer an improved outlook on life. People frequently say that a smile is one of the most attractive qualities. So if you have missing teeth, discolored teeth, or a smile that you try to hide, cosmetic dentistry can be life changing.
Your smile is likely the first thing people notice about you – stop hiding it and make the right first impression. Aesthetic dentistry strives to restore, enhance and maintain optimal dental health, while creating beautiful smiles the patient can’t wait to show off.
The work I do takes a great deal of finesse and expertise to marry function with beauty, and it’s a responsibility I take very seriously. I offer the most cutting edge treatment and technologies to allow my patients to not only have a healthy smile, but to have the stunning smile they deserve. To learn more, call my office today. We do provide complimentary cosmetic consultations.
